Uni – directional woven roving tapes are most commonly used for providing local reinforcement in the direction of the warp ( longitudinal) yarns. The majority of the fibres are in the warp direction with a small amount in the weft to hold it together for handling. In order to add stability to the dry reinforcement, a small amount of fibre 5-6% is added to the perpendicular direction. It is often used in conjunction with chopped strand mat to add bulk and increase stiffness to boats, automobiles and storage tanks.
